Is it too late to say Happy New Year 😊
Hello,
Firstly Happy New Year :) My husband asked me the other day when it was too late to wish somebody a “Happy New Year” and it dawned on me Mid Jan might be it .. after the 19th I suspect we are just counting down the days to Spring :)
I hope you had a wonderful festive season with the people you love. It feels like a long time ago, yet the promises we made to ourselves as yet another year blossoms, still feels quite new.
These past few weeks have been pretty busy with client work, which I am incredibly grateful for. I will never take for granted the trust founders put in me to help them grow and market their businesses.
This week I want to talk about Email Campaigns as part of your business strategy. With the news that Tik Tok shutdown in the US today, it’s a stark reminder that a balance needs to be in place between borrowed social media platforms and data you own and can actively grow :)
One of the areas I tend to look at is email, it’s perfect. It’s..
Data you own (and as such becomes an asset to your business)
You can actively grow (Automation tools are a brilliant way to grow your lists)
You can email daily if you have something valuable to share
More people will open and read your emails v’s the % of people who see your posts on Social Media
And lastly it’s a really lovely place to build and nurture a community ☺️
Last week I spent time reviewing 100's of email’s in Klaviyo for a brilliant wellness product business (Sea Moss anyone 👋🏻). The emails are beautiful .. truly! the designs are incredible. Some of the best designs I have seen in almost 20 years - and that's saying something 🤭
But ..
They aren't converting ..
And normally it’s down to the same thing ..
Founders are so worried about spamming people and as a result afraid to actually say anything valuable in the email that:
1. Builds the relationship
2. Establishes trust in the brand
3. Drives Sales
They either won’t email the list at all and then tie themselves up into knots, as they know the list is there, but haven’t connected for a while or they are worried about the content and sounding too “salesy”
If you resonate, I would love to say to you ..
“Email your list”
Start sharing, talking and adding buttons to take people to your products or services. Email is one of the most under utilised assets in a business, yet holds the key to everything you want to build via social media 😊
It's so noisy out there!
Think how intimate an email is, it lands in your inbox and it’s between you and the words in front of you.. no doom scrolling or irrelevant ads .. bliss!
As I round off today’s email I would like to leave you with this:
If you are going to spend time building out email sequences and committing to emailing your lists:
1. Give yourself permission to chat .. sometimes text works better than design
Ask for what you want
Watch this video
Visit the store
Review this product or service
And be very clear how the customer can do want you want
And then watch your conversions climb .. 👏
